that the police department has to add more OT hours for officers.

3 months - nearly SEVEN THOUSAND PEOPLE ran the lights at the intersections.

I did too, a couple of times, on my scooter.
too bad, copper.

>> No.6807

Well I thought the purpose here was to cut back on man hours, right? I'd feel much better if there was a cop spending overtime at the sw blvd intersection than spending it sifting thru photos at a desk. That area needs more patrol.

>> No.6808

I pulled out into the intersection at Gregory and 71, waiting to take a left. I was doing the standard wait-for-the-oncoming-traffic-to-clear-and-then-turn-left-as-the-light-changes routine when I realized that the camera sensor thingy would just think I was running a red light. And the oncoming car pulled a "I'm going through this yellow light, no wait NEVERMIND" kind of thing, and I was left waving my dick in the wind, so to speak. So I probably have a ticket coming.

Do you have a link to the SEVEN THOUSAND PEOPLE thing? I've seen the camera go off a number of times while a car is inching forward a little, waiting for the light to turn green.

KC Headlight Cams Catch Men Waving their Dicks in the Wind.

Has anyone here gotten a ticket this way yet?

How do you know when the camera is activated?

Well, each picture the camera takes (maybe it's a full motion picture cam? takes a series each time? who knows) - is reviewed by an officer later.
So maybe the sitting officer took pity on your wind sack.

oh yeah - and the 7000 tickets issued thing was in a story on KCTV 5's web site.

they also love these little money generating robots so much that KC is ready to install another 6 by the end of the month.

hey! free money!

That happened to a friend of mine at Southwest Trafficway and she got a ticket.

You can contest them and she would of, but she didn't have insurance or valid tags.

At night, there's a flash that goes off when the picture is taken.

I'm going to cover my license plate and put on a ski mask and drive through redlights at the 39th and Southwest Trfwy intersection over and over and over again.

Who is with me?

Anyone ever seen Funkhouser's license number on his Prius?
Might be fun to make a dupe of his plate and run the light a bunch.

...

maybe even while wearing a fake goatee.

>> No.6817

It's pretty funny. He's no where CLOSE to being legal in it.

I'm waiting to see if I get one for a Mike Walker-esque move today when I was waiting to turn left.

I'm thinking about getting one of those reflective liscense plate covers that blocks the flash :)

I would join you on that mission. For real.
