heard about that ... i briefly studied North Indian raga under two of Ali Akbar Khan's students and the experience affected me musically forever. I saw AAK play once in Kansas City many years ago, it was amazing. I have always like the sarod better than the sitar anyway.
He was at the Folly about 10 years ago or more. I too was there. The tabla player was Swapan Chaudhuri

latoya?maybe it was always latoya, the never was a michael, just latoya and her desire to be loved by her parents the same way they loved the boys. she went nuts and "became" michael. but even as a little girl she had to lead a double life so the neighbors wouldn't ask what happened to the little girl latoya. they would have been ok with the sudden arrival of the cute michael because gosh, he was so cute. then it just got out of hand.ormichael is now taking latoya's place and he had her killed. hmmmm....my money is on...i don't care anymore.

Dear Friends,I don't ask for much. I try and help when & where I can. I don't have a lot of money, so I try and help with time. Anyone that knows me, knows that I don't have a lot of that either.I've been asked, with pleasure, to find some sponsors for Popfreeradio's 3rd Annual Smoking For Cancer event at The American Royal BBQ. Not only would you be giving to a great cause, but you get advertising for your business, get event tickets & actually GET to eat BBQ! Because the competition is so fierce, rarely do guests get this opportunity. We believe our guests & givers are the reason we are there & they deserve to be part of it. We are obviously asking many people in different industries so there will be no competition issues. Are you in contact with or work with a company that you think would LOVE this opportunity? Let me know. Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

Cloves are now illegal! That's my interpretation of this excerpt from the new bill that passed:"Smokers, particularly the younger crowd, will find they can no longer buy cigarettes sweetened by candy flavors or any herb or spices such as strawberry, grape, orange, clove, cinnamon or vanilla. Cigarettes advertised as "light" or "mild," giving the impression that they aren't as harmful to health, will no longer be found on store shelves." Good thing I gave up my Winston "Lights".

"Hey! We get it! Fapinions are cultural!"_____Kansas City's downtown, part of a more-handsome-than-you'd-think metropolis erected on the shoulders of corporations like H&R Block, Sprint and Hallmark. What you see next: the two rivers, the Kansas and the Missouri, the former emptying into the latter, thereby creating the impetus for a metro area of 2 million split by two waterways spanning two states that were on two sides of the Civil War conflict, and on and on.Not surprisingly, multiple points of view tend to be encouraged in all matters here -- all matters, that is, save one: barbecue. Fistfights have been known to break out over differences of opinion regarding the city's 90-some joints. Politics, sex and religion are all far safer conversational gambits. That is because loving one's barbecue place, you see, means trashing every other barbecue place to high heaven, often in ridiculous terms and always off the record. (Sample invective: "Jack Stack can't be a barbecue joint. It has tablecloths. But don't print that.")

That is because loving one's barbecue place, you see, means trashing every other barbecue place to high heaven, often in ridiculous terms and always off the record. (Sample invective: "Jack Stack can't be a barbecue joint. It has tablecloths. But don't print that.")
Jack Stack can't be a barbecue joint because they microwave their barbecue. If you consider their smokers you'd have to call them Fritz's.
Maybe it's because i"m back to Safari
I had a meeting yesterday with an old friend; he's in his 50s, and really digs sharing music and stuff with me. He shared a story that his nephew told at a "comedy club in NYC." It turned out that it was "The Moth" (they have a podcast and are very "hip"). My friend didn't really "get" how big the story had become. But he was at Thanksgiving at his sister's house in Montana when they got the call about the event in the story. Unreal. He had a lot of details. This version sucks; it is pretty low quality. I can get high quality for you.
This is the follow-up, http://castroller.com/podcasts/TheMothPodcast/1053482
fascinating, listened to the follow up, toothat'd make an intense film short ...

mwalker3000 at the gmails what with the dot coms.
I have no working e-mails for the Steve. I need to aks a Jonathan Richman qwestion. Ideas?
that he is VERY meticulous about the details of the show. New album. Probably not digging deep to the gold, I would imagine.
How long can you really expect a musician to play their early material?Especially with someone like Richman. Dude has a lot of albums. I'd really like to hear "Egyptian Reggae" and "Rock and Roll Leprechauns" but I can't expect that. On the other hand, I don't care if I hear that Dancing in a Lesbian Bar song again.I don't know, sounds like you'll get a good Jonathan Richman fix either way---> http://www.amazon.com/gp/recsradio/radio/B0014I4KNU/ref=pd_krex_listen_dp_img?ie=UTF8&refTagSuffix=dp_img

>>6687It isn't for me; Bee has a bunch of favorite JR songs (I'm a Little Airplane, Dinosaur, Ice Cream Man, Roadrunner, The New Teller, Buzz Buzz Buzz, etc.)..Buzz, Buzz, Buzz may be among his favorite songs ever. I was just wondering if he would indulge a 7-year-old. Otherwise I won't take him. When I saw him 10-years-ago, he did an in store at Love Garden and did a bunch of that stuff.

I just had "Repeater" come up on random and it sounded like it was mastered on a 4-track through headphones. Did those ever get remastered?
In mid 2008 Dischord Records began re-mastering and re-cutting much of our vinyl catalog here in the United States (after years of making our records in Europe). The first of these re-mastered LPs appeared at the end of 2008 and we will continue to roll out newly re-issued LPs throughout 2009. We began by re-pressing current titles, and later re-issuing older titles, all re-cut at Chicago Mastering Service (many from from the Silver Sonya masters). All the re-mastered albums feature complimentary MP3 album downloads. For a complete list of our re-mastered LPs go here: Dischord re-mastered LPsDischord has always enjoyed very high quality vinyl mastering. For many years much of our vinyl was mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London by our friend and partner John Loder, who passed away in 2005. But the metal-work that is used to press vinyl LPs eventually wears out with use and we decided that with John's passing and with a renewed interest in vinyl that it was time to bring these projects back home and pass the torch to Bob Weston and Jason Ward at Chicago Mastering Service. CK OUT #13 :PMen's Health - Best Foods for Menby Anthony BourdainAny seasoned traveler can tell you that the "best" meals on the planet are the result of an ephemeral confluence of circumstances. A table at the most expensive restaurant in the world does not guarantee a truly great meal. That said, if you're planning on dying in the near future and want to knock off a list of final, glorious dining experiences, these places would make a very respectable binge. Start with one. Make a reservation today. Go on an empty stomach. Trust me: This is livin'. Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

ok, i'm gonna go to oklahoma joe's when i get back after this weekend. burnt ends rule me.
I've had the Pastrami at Katz's Deli in NYC.He's not kidding. When they handed me the sandwich, it seemed as large as my skull, but filled with delicious meats instead of my under-performing gray matter.
